Russian Rapprochement?

"A State Department official, who was not authorized to speak about the talks and requested anonymity, disputed the Russian characterization of the American position"

So all this is NYT BULLS***, huh?

"US, Russia begin talks to combat cybercrime; White House breaking from Bush policy" by John Markoff and Andrew E. Kramer, New York Times | December 13, 2009

NEW YORK - The United States has begun talks with Russia and a UN arms control committee about strengthening Internet security and limiting military use of cyberspace.

American and Russian officials have different interpretations of the talks so far, but the mere fact that the United States is participating represents a significant policy shift after years of rejecting Russia’s overtures. Officials familiar with the talks said the Obama administration realized that more nations were developing cyberweapons and that a new approach was needed to blunt an international arms race.

This is when I start to worry; Russian and U.S cooperation on computer crime and hacking inevitably leads to organized crime, which is now a Zionist Jew outfit (and yet the Zionist Jew MSM has you buying the Godfather imagery, pffft), and that has a tendency to lead to some sort of agenda-pushing, false-flag operation to divert attention from the whole matter!

So this whole NYT piece is a poop prank, huh?

In the last two years, Internet-based attacks on government and corporate computer systems have multiplied to thousands a day. Hackers, usually never identified, have compromised Pentagon computers, stolen industrial secrets, and temporarily jammed government and corporate websites.

Yeah, funny how the PERVERTS an the HELL-RAISING HACKERS are never caught but government needs to crawl up your ass and read e-mails, listen to phone calls, etc, etc.

I suggest the TYRANNY HAS FAILED -- if it was ever devised to succeed (certain groups exempted, then yes).

President Obama ordered a review of the nation’s Internet security in February and is preparing to name an official to coordinate national policy.

Oh, yeah, he did that:

"Obama names a cyber security chief" by Associated Press | December 23, 2009

WASHINGTON - The White House has tapped a corporate cyber security expert and former Bush administration official, Howard A. Schmidt, to lead the effort to shore up the country’s computer networks....

Why Obama Wants a Cyber Czar

How is that for CHANGE, America -- especially Democrats?!!

Okay, back to the U.S.S.R, 'er, Russian federation, sorry....

On Nov. 12, a delegation led by General Vladislav P. Sherstyuk, a deputy secretary of the Russian Security Council and the former leader of the Russian equivalent of the National Security Agency, flew to Washington and met with representatives from the National Security Council, State Department, Department of Defense, and the Department of Homeland Security. Officials familiar with these talks said the two sides made progress in bridging divisions that had long separated the countries. Indeed, two weeks later in Geneva, the United States agreed to discuss cyberwarfare and cybersecurity with representatives of the UN committee on disarmament and international security....

Oh, now it is CYBERWARFARE as well as "SECURITY," huh?

Related: Cyber Cold War

Funny how "security" ALWAYS MORPHS in WAR, Huh, Amurka -- as your rights are stripped from you like clothing searches at the airport!

The Russians have held that the increasing challenges posed by military activities to civilian computer networks can be best dealt with by an international treaty, similar to treaties that have limited the spread of nuclear, chemical, and biological weapons. The United States had resisted, arguing it was impossible to draw a line between the commercial and military uses of software and hardware. Now there is a thaw, said people familiar with the discussions.

Has Israel SO COMPROMISED American security with it's spying that the government is FINALLY WAKING UP?

Besides the fact that the Zionist Jews behind the P.N.A.C. Neo-Con plan eventually view a World War pitting the West against China, Russia, and the Muslim world.

Sounds lie a lot of fun, doesn't it?

“In the last months there are more signs of building better cooperation between the US and Russia,’’ said Veni Markovski, a Washington-based adviser to Bulgaria’s Internet security chief and representative to Russia for the organization that assigns Internet domain names. “These are signs that show the dangers of cybercrime are too big to be neglected.’’

And when you consider who is behind most of cybercrime, well, that group has a tendency to lash out as I said, so....

Viktor V. Sokolov, deputy director of the Institute of Information Security in Moscow, a policy research group run by Sherstyuk, said the Russian view was that the American position on Internet security had shifted perceptibly in recent months.

I guess this is why the NYT is ringing the alarm bell.

“There is movement,’’ he said. Before, bilateral negotiations were limited to the relevant Russian police agency, the Bureau of Special Technical Operations, the Internet division of the Ministry of Interior and the FBI.

Sokolov characterized this new round of discussions as the opening of negotiations between Russia and the United States on a disarmament treaty for cyberspace, something Russia has long sought but the United States has resisted.

“The talks took place in a good atmosphere,’’ he said. “And they agreed to continue this process. There are positive movements.’’

Okay, here is the question:

How is USRAEL going to F*** this up? (Answer below)

A State Department official, who was not authorized to speak about the talks and requested anonymity, disputed the Russian characterization of the American position....

So that was all NYT GAS, huh?

The UN discussions are scheduled to resume in New York in January, and the two countries also plan to talk at an annual Russia-sponsored Internet security conference in Germany, held under the auspices of a cooperation agreement between Russia and NATO.

The American interest in reopening discussions shows that the Obama administration, even in absence of a designated Internet security chief, is breaking with the Bush administration, which had declined to talk with Russia about issues related to military attacks using the Internet.

But they did hire one of his flunkies to oversee the project.

See why I am SO SICK of DECEPTIVE MSM S***-FOOLEYS, folks?

Many countries, including the United States, are developing weapons for use on computer networks that are ever more integral to the operations of everything from banks to electrical power systems to government offices.

Yes, in other words, OFFENSIVE WEAPONS!! So the HACKERS that are NEVER CAUGHT could VERY WELL BE the U.S. GOVERNMENT AGENTS, readers!!!!

So what do they have in their OFFENSIVE ARSENAL?

They include “logic bombs’’ that can be hidden in computers to halt them at crucial times or damage circuitry, “botnets’’ that can disable or spy on websites and networks, or microwave radiation devices that can burn out computer circuits miles away.

Woah!!

And CUI BONO, huh?

WHO would NOT WANT INFORMATION getting out, hmmmm?

The Russians have focused on three related issues, according to American officials. In addition to continuing efforts to ban offensive cyberweapons, they have insisted on what they describe as an issue of sovereignty calling for a ban on “cyberterrorism.’’ American officials view the issue differently and describe this as the Russians effort to restrict “politically destabilizing speech.’’

This from a country that passes hate speech laws!

Shaddup

The Russians have also rejected a portion of the Council of Europe Convention on Cybercrime that they assert violates their constitution by permitting foreign law enforcement agencies to conduct Internet searches inside Russian borders.

Well, WE WOULD REJECT KGB coming here, so what's the beef?

Besides, the Jewish crime syndicate is located in the former satellites turned Republics.

Makes you wonder about the collapse of the Soviet Empire a little, doesn't it?

In late October at a luncheon during a meeting on Security and Counter Terrorism at Moscow State University, Sherstyuk told a group of American executives that the Russians would never sign the European Cybercrime Treaty as long as it contained the language permitting cross-border searches.

And then the agenda-pushing, war-promoting, Zionist AmeriKan propaganda machine will say the Russians blocked something we didn't want to sign anyway!

What a great trick, huh, American!?

And before moving on to the f*** up, let's deal with a few other matters first.

WASHINGTON - The FBI is investigating a hacker attack on Citigroup that led to the theft of tens of millions of dollars, The Wall Street Journal reported yesterday. The bank strenuously denied the report.

Okay, this is serious (and not just the bank lying).

Your personal privacy, etc, is not, but when BANKS GET LOOTED, well....

Citing anonymous officials, the Journal said the hackers were connected to a Russian gang and two other computer systems, at least one of connected to a US government agency, were also attacked.

I mean, I DON'T NEED ANYMORE, readers, I'm sorry. I LOOK AT IT and SEE WHAT IT IS and WHY the MSM COVERS it up in this way!!!

Citi said “any allegation that the FBI is working on a case at Citigroup involving a breach of Citi systems resulting in tens of millions of dollars of losses is false.’’

The Journal said it stands by its story.

Who do you want to believe, readers?

Looting Liar A or Looting Liar B?

The newspaper reported the attack, on Citigroup’s Citibank subsidiary, was detected over the summer but may have occurred up to one year earlier. The FBI, National Security Agency, Homeland Security, and Citigroup worked together to investigate the attack, the report said.

And we are JUST HEARING ABOUT IT NOW?

Internet attacks on banks are common, said Tom Kellermann, a former senior member of the World Bank’s Treasury security team and now vice president of security awareness for Core Security Technologies. He said large financial institutions are “consistently targeted’’ and are “hemorrhaging funds.’’

Really? I better go GET ALL MY MONEY OUT of there RIGHT AWAY!!!!!!!

"Malware targets Facebook, Twitter users" by New York Times | December 14, 2009

NYT again.

SAN FRANCISCO - It used to be that computer viruses attacked only your hard drive. Now they attack your dignity.

Malicious programs are rampaging through websites like Facebook and Twitter, spreading themselves by taking over people’s accounts and sending out messages to all of their friends and followers.... The humiliation sown by these attacks is just collateral damage.

Like innocents killed in wars based on lies? The choice of words, ugh!

In most cases, the perpetrators are hoping to profit from the referral fees they get for directing people to sketchy e-commerce sites.

Probably autistic.

In other words, even the crooks are on social networks now - because millions of tightly connected potential victims are just waiting for them there.

Not me.

Often the victims lose control of their accounts after clicking on a link “sent’’ by a friend. In other cases, the bad guys apparently scan for accounts with easily guessable passwords. After discovering their accounts have been seized, victims typically renounce the unauthorized messages publicly, apologizing for inadvertently bombarding their friends.

At least I won't need to do that.

These messages - one might call them Tweets of shame - convey a mix of guilt, regret, and embarrassment. Social networks have become prime targets of malware creators for good reason, security experts say. People trust the messages they receive from friends, and are inclined to overlook the fact that, say, their cousin from Ohio is extremely unlikely to have caught them on a hidden Web cam.

Hey, I never put any stupidity past my fellow Amurkns.

We are number 1, dammit!

"Kremlin reports progress in negotiations with US to reduce nuclear arsenal" by Associated Press | December 14, 2009

Oh, now you are broaching a topic....

WASHINGTON - Russia and the United States are making “substantial progress’’ on negotiations for a successor to an expired nuclear weapons treaty, according to a Kremlin statement....

You can JUST SMELL the FALSE-FLAG or PROVOCATION COMING, can't you?

An Obama administration official confirmed the two presidents spoke by telephone Saturday about the negotiations, but offered no further details. The official spoke on the condition of anonymity because the administration had not announced the discussion publicly. The Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty, known as START, expired Dec. 5. Both governments have spent several months negotiating a new pact that would further reduce the size of the nuclear arsenals on both sides.

Maybe I am misguided, but I am ALWAYS FOR THAT!!!

If nothing else, it reduces the chance of an ACCIDENT or COMPUTER FOUL-UP, right?

Robert Gibbs, White House press secretary, said this past week that the two sides are making progress....

My question remains: How is this NEW DETENTE going to get SCUTTLED?!!!

"Washington and Moscow near deal to trim nuclear arsenals

WTF?

MY HEADLINE and ARTICLE said
:

Talks stall over new US-Russia nuclear arms control treaty

And it was NOTHING LIKE THIS!!!!

WASHINGTON - Eight months, three presidential meetings, countless Geneva negotiating sessions and one missed deadline later, the United States and Russia appear on the verge of agreeing to a new arms control treaty that will reduce their strategic nuclear arsenals by at least one quarter.

But even if the two sides manage to bring home a deal in coming days as they hope, that will be the easy part. After President Obama and President Dmitri A. Medvedev of Russia sign the new pact, they plan to send negotiators to the table next year to pursue a far more ambitious agreement tackling categories of nuclear weapons never before subject to international limits.

In addition to further reducing deployed strategic warheads, the negotiations would try to empty at least some vaults now storing warheads in reserve. And the two sides would take aim at thousands of tactical nuclear bombs most vulnerable to theft or proliferation, some still located in Europe 20 years after the fall of the Berlin Wall.

Obama left Washington on Thursday night to fly to Copenhagen, where he will meet with Medvedev at a global climate change conference. There, they hope to cut through the remaining obstacles to the agreement to replace the Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty of 1991, known as START, which expired Dec. 5.

Seriously, what is with the DECEPTIVE HEADLINE and UPDATE, readers?

Now I have to HAND TYPE what I'm looking at in my PRINTED PAPER?

Washington -- Negotiators with Russia to replace an expired Cold War-era arms control treaty have bogged down and now appear unlikely to be concluded by the end of the year as the White House had hoped.

Quite a DIFFERENT TONE, huh?

US officials, speaking on the condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the talks, say negotiations with Russia to replace the Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty have become hung up on a disagreement about how to monitor the development of new intercontinental ballistic missiles.

Listen to 'em! Talking about cuts as they expand the militarism!!

The Obama administration has sought to make the negotiations a vehicle for demonstrating improved relations with Russia. The administration hopes that greater cooperation on arms control can lead to Russian help on stickier issues, including efforts to rein in Iran's suspected nuclear ambitions.

Oh, so RUSSIA must have CUT a DEAL on IRAN!!!!

I GOT IT!!!

Georgia on my mind!!!!

"GOP senator urges rearming of Georgia" by Associated Press | December 23, 2009

WASHINGTON - A senior Republican senator is urging the Obama administration and European allies to consider rearming Georgia, an action that would inevitably upset Russia.

The recommendation comes from Senator Richard Lugar of Indiana, a lawmaker who has long cultivated cooperation with Russia.

But when the SHEKEL hits the ROAD, the REAL MASTER is SERVED!!!

Lugar has been a key ally for President Obama on his pursuit of an arms control deal with Russia that has been the centerpiece of the administration’s efforts to improve relations with the Kremlin. He also is leading efforts to win Republican votes to ratify the treaty, once it has been completed.

So WHAT GIVES, "DICK!!!!!?"

During the brief August 2008 war, Russia destroyed much of Georgia’s military infrastructure and occupied two breakaway territories. Russia has since recognized both Abkhazia and South Ossetia as independent countries and established military bases close to their borders with Georgia.

Yeah, NEVER MIND that GEORGIA STARTED IT or anything!!!

That's another CONCEALING OMISSION I'm sure the WORLD is TIRED OFF!!!

A report by Lugar’s staff warns that Georgia’s military vulnerability could lead to further instability in the Caucasus amid tensions between Georgia and Russia.

Something that GEORGIA was RESPONSIBLE for and which the Russian "invasion" ENDED!!!!!

It urges the administration to coordinate a strategy within NATO that strikes a balance between Georgia’s security needs and NATO’s relationship with Russia.

Following the war, the United States allocated $1 billion in aid to Georgia for rebuilding, but both the Bush and Obama administrations, as well as European countries, have withheld lethal military aid fearing that it would antagonize Moscow.

This as U.S. FORECLOSURES SET RECORDS, America!!!

--more--"

And that was the WHOLE POINT, right?

Get the "bear" mad?!

EU does its part:

TBILISI, Georgia - Russia has failed to fully observe a European Union-brokered peace deal that ended last year’s war with Georgia, the EU monitoring mission chief says.

Hansjoerg Haber said Russia has not met an obligation to withdraw its forces to positions held before the August 2008 conflict. “This is our main problem,’’ Haber said.

Not one for me.

Russia also has refused to let EU monitors enter Georgia’s breakaway provinces of Abkhazia and South Ossetia, Haber said. Moscow has recognized the regions as independent states and kept thousands of troops there.

Hey, the U.S., ISRAEL and NATO are OCCUPYING nations with HUNDREDS of THOUSANDS of TROOPS, so PFFFFFFFTTTT!!!!!

Russian officials have dismissed such statements by EU officials, saying that Moscow was not obliged to make the moves according to its interpretation of the deal.

I can live with their interpretation -- and maybe the South Ossetians and Abkhazians will, too!!

Only Venezuela, Nicaragua, and the South Pacific island nation of Nauru have followed Russia’s example in recognizing the breakaway regions as independent states.

Yeah, it is never a problem if the West does it.

You know, like Kosovo!

The EU sent 200 monitors to patrol areas near Abkhazia and South Ossetia, where tensions have persisted with periodic arrests and claims and counterclaims of illegal activity. Yesterday EU monitors visited the village of Zegduleti in the Gori region near South Ossetia.

Local villagers welcome the EU patrols.

“When I see EU monitors, I feel relieved,’’ said Malkhaz Tservadze, 61, a resident of Zegduleti. “They are on a peaceful mission to ensure our safety.’’

Right.
