FDA Doesn't Care About Kids

"FDA pledges closer look at chemical bisphenol A in plastics" by Beth Daley, Globe Staff | January 16, 2010

Acknowledging there is “some concern’’ that a chemical found in baby bottles and infant sipping cups could cause adverse heath effects in children, Food and Drug Administration officials pledged yesterday to study the chemical far more closely but said there was not enough evidence to further regulate it....

Well, somebody already did.

See: Harvard's BPA

I mean, those are top-of-the-line studies according to government and MSM, so I don't get it.

Small amounts of the chemical Bisphenol A can seep out of cups and bottles and be ingested by children. Bisphenol A, or BPA, is added to many plastics and liners of canned goods, including liquid baby formula. Studies in laboratory animals suggest the chemical might increase the risk of developmental problems in some fetuses and young children, along with other ill effects....

Yeah, I'm getting the feeling this is ALL ABOUT CORPORATE PROFITS!

Massachusetts Congressman Edward J. Markey, lead author of a bill to ban BPA in all food and beverage containers, said the announcement was important for keeping young children safe. “The Obama administration is not only restoring science to its rightful place in public health policy decision making, but is also signaling its plans to take bold steps to keep this dangerous chemical out of the reach of children,’’ he said. “It is clear that BPA poses serious health risks.’’

Now how would he have reacted if Bush said they were only going to study it?

Never mind this guy's s***-shoveling sales job on that global warming lie.

And he has the nerve to cite science?

Meanwhile, Massachusetts public health officials have warned parents of young children to avoid storing infant formula or breast milk in plastic bottles containing bisphenol A - and urged pregnant or breast-feeding women to avoid the common chemical in other food and drink containers.

Yeah, Massachusetts Doesn't Care About Its Infants, either.

Some states have gone further, such as Connecticut, which banned the chemical from infant formula and baby food cans and jars, and reusable food and beverage containers sold in the state.

How come Massachusetts is only number one in things that don't matter?

Well, at least there is always the EPA, America:

"EPA withholds names of some harsh chemicals; Pressure builds for lawmakers to rewrite laws" by Lyndsey Layton, Washington Post | January 10, 2010

Excuse me?

WASHINGTON - Of the 84,000 chemicals in commercial use in the United States - from flame retardants in furniture to household cleaners - nearly 20 percent are secret, according to the Environmental Protection Agency, their names and physical properties guarded from consumers and virtually all public officials under a little-known federal provision.

Yes, this is YOUR OPEN and TRANSPARENT GOVERNMENT that CARES SO MUCH ABOUT YOU, America! Sure is COSTING YOU ENOUGH, isn't it?

The policy was designed 33 years ago to protect trade secrets in a highly competitive industry.

AS ALWAYS, your health takes a BACKSEAT to CORPORATION PROFITS, America!! No wonder I never feel so good.

But critics - including the Obama administration - say the secrecy has grown out of control, making it impossible for regulators to control potential dangers or for consumers to know which toxic substances they might be exposed to. At a time of increasing public demand for more information about chemical exposure, pressure is building on lawmakers to make it more difficult for manufacturers to cloak their products in secrecy.

Why? What could be that "secret," huh?

What could no one in the world figure out it has to be protected, huh? What could it be?

Congress is set to rewrite chemical regulations this year for the first time in a generation.

Under the 1976 Toxic Substances Control Act, manufacturers must report to the federal government new chemicals they intend to market. But the law exempts from public disclosure any information that could harm their bottom line....

Do I REALLY NEED to COMMENT?

Yeah, and OBAMA is worried about the
DEFAULTING GOVERNMENT'S BOTTOM LINE!! That's why the SMOG STEALING!

Some companies have successfully argued that the federal government should not only keep the names of their chemicals secret but also hide from public view the identities and addresses of the manufacturers.

In OUR ACCOUNTABLE "democracy?"

Why would the GOVERNMENT that has been PROTECTING and SERVING YOU all this time DO SUCH a THING, America?

Is it POSSIBLE they NEVER WERE and ARE NOT SERVING YOU at all?

It SURE DOESN'T $MELL like it!

“Even acknowledging what chemical is used or what is made at what facility could convey important information to competitors, and they can start to put the pieces together,’’ said Mike Walls, vice president of the American Chemistry Council....

Government can't even put the "terrorist" pieces together, so WTF you talking about, s***ter?

Of the secret chemicals, 151 are made in quantities of more than 1 million tons a year, and 10 are used specifically in children’s products, according to the EPA....

NEED I EVEN TYPE IT, folks?

Yeah, DOESN'T GIVE a DAMN about YOUR KIDS, either!

What else would you expect from a GOVERNMENT that LIES THEM into WARS!!!?

The identities of the chemicals are known to a handful of EPA employees who are legally barred from sharing that information with other federal officials, state health and environmental regulators, foreign governments, emergency responders, and the public....

But WAR LIES, can be EXCHANGED between the US and ISRAEL!!

Oh, yeah, they can spy on us and that is censored, too, America.

But YOU CAN'T KNOW what POISONS are in YOUR PRODUCTS because CORPORATE PROFITS are at stake!!
