Slow Saturday Special: Tea Bags Steeped in S***

I'm not a "'bagger," folks.

"Conservative leaders to present a manifesto; With declaration, they hope for new movement" by Jerry Markon, Washington Post | February 17, 2010

WASHINGTON - The gathering of more than 80 leaders, to be led by Reagan-era attorney general Edwin Meese....

Can you say MOVEMENT CO-OPTED, readers?

Time to THROW OUT the TEA BAGS!

The network of loosely affiliated conservative blogs, radio hosts, and tea party organizers is spreading through new media and increasingly coordinating its message.

When the MSM starts noticing you, you know your movement has been taken over by the very forces you thought you were fighting against.

Yet tensions linger between the conservative establishment in Washington and younger, grass-roots activists.

This is the establishment's effort to infiltrate and destroy the independence movement, folks.

Some question whether a meeting of Beltway elder statesmen would accomplish much in a political climate that has spawned a year of tea party protests, fiery town-hall meetings, and the triumph of Republicans in Massachusetts, Virginia, and New Jersey....

I don't question it; I see right through it for what it really is.

I mean, look who showed up and spoke:

"Romney courts the right with jabs at Obama; Crowd reserves fervor for new faces" by Susan Milligan, Globe Staff | February 19, 2010

Front page, Globe?

You guys really love to push the division, huh?

WASHINGTON -- Some in the audience of traditional conservatives and insurgent tea party activists at the annual Conservative Political Action Conference yesterday said they considered Romney a candidate of the past, not one who could galvanize a burgeoning but fractious conservative movement and lead them to victory in 2012....

Isn't that sort of a charged-word for a group of Americans?

Not like there is any media bias or shaping of opinion going on....

Romney did not capture the same enthusiasm when he detailed his prescription for an ailing economy, and made a pitch for a stronger, more agile leader who understands business, an issue and a quality that had been perceived as strengths for the former venture capitalist.

Romney also defended former President Bush for his fiscal and education policy, an odd testimony for an audience that has often derided the high deficits and ballooning government programs of the Bush administration.

You gotta be kidding, right?

Republican establishment leaders, meanwhile, are grappling with how to handle the tea party movement, which is fueling candidacies at the state and local level but threatening to divide the GOP.

Oh, now they are DIVIDERS, too.

Yup, PROTECT the POWER STRUCTURE, you PoS paper!

The sheer energy of the movement could boost Republicans overall, but in some specific cases, it could hurt. In Nevada, for example, a tea party group has qualified as a third party and is planning to run its own candidate for Senate, which could help the imperiled Democratic majority leader, Harry Reid, by siphoning votes from the eventual GOP nominee.

Oh, is that how they are going to rig Nevada so Reid can stay?

Tea party proponents made it clear yesterday they would not simply align with the GOP’s agenda. Instead, they encouraged one another to wage a grass-roots war against liberalism.

Oh, they want a WAR, do they?!

I'M OUT!!

I want LIBERALS to OPEN THEIR MINDS and SEE THE TRUTH!

But since most "leftists" in AmeriKa are controlled-opposition outfits I have given up hope.

“We have several bars that are infested with liberals in St. Louis,’’ said Dana Loesch, with the St. Louis Tea Party. “Go there, take them over. Say how much you love the Constitution! Say it loud! Make them feel uncomfortable. Have no mercy, take no prisoners, suffer no fools. Don’t let them have a sanctuary.’’

Pffft!!

Yeah, GO INTO a LIBERAL BAR (where? I looked for them for years and never found one) and START a BAR FIGHT!!

That's the 'bagger's solution!

Sigh.

I'm surprised the Globe reporter didn't mention this guy:

"Cheney predicts short stay in office for Obama

WASHINGTON - Former vice president Dick Cheney has told conservative political activists he thinks Obama is a “one-term president.’’

In a surprise appearance yesterday at the Conservative Political Action Conference, Cheney also said he believes 2010 will be a big year for Republicans....

Cheney had accompanied his daughter, Liz Cheney, to the conference.

That the
gay one?

Not surprised this guy got the treatment he did:

"Pence, Pawlenty ask fellow Republicans to fight back

WASHINGTON - Representative Ron Paul, a Texas Republican, took the podium late yesterday afternoon to a standing-room-only crowd and raucous chants of his name.

Filling my eyes with tears, readers.

"Paul was the only speaker so far to fill the entire convention hall at the Conservative Political Action Conference, and some of his supporters were turned away"

The man who should be president of the United States, world, as the water leaks (what is wrong with me?).

As if the kingmakers of AmeriKa would let Ron Paul anywhere near the presidency.

I suspect that is what would happen to him, too.

Other views regarding Ron Paul's appearance (since the Globe won't tell me what he said):

Message to the Tea Party Movement

I agree -- but then, the whole world seems that way now.
