Off to Afghanistan

I hardly knew they left since they were hidden away in briefs.

"175 more in Guard head to Afghanistan

Another 175 Maine National Guard soldiers are ready to ship out for deployment to Afghanistan, where they will spend the coming year. Governor John Baldacci and other state officials attended yesterday’s sendoff ceremony for the Maine National Guard’s 1136th Transportation Company. The unit departs today for Fort Hood, Texas, before moving on to Kabul (AP)."

Don't you need them for the floods, governor?

"Air Force reservists to aid Afghan surge

About 500 US Air Force reservists are being called to active duty in Massachusetts to support the US troop surge in Afghanistan. The Westover Air Reserve Base in Chicopee announced yesterday that the flight crew members, maintenance technicians, and support personnel would report next month, and operations at the airfield would expand to 24 hours a day. The base also is stepping up its overseas commitment, with about 300 airmen scheduled to begin 4- to 6-month deployments to Afghanistan and Iraq in April (AP)."

Air Force serving on the ground in predominately land-locked countries?

We REALLY ARE SHORT SOLDIERS no matter what propaganda the MSM pushes!!!
