This Is Your Braintree on Drugs

Any questions?

Braintree police believe they have nipped what they saw as a growing cocaine problem in the small town....

After a two-month investigation and surveillance, officers arrested Jeffrey P. Laun, 35, of Braintree, a suspected drug dealer and trafficker.

Laun was arrested after the Braintree Police Drug Unit received a tip that he was selling cocaine. They started watching him and, on Friday, followed Laun to a house on Drinkwater Avenue, police said yesterday. Two hours after he arrived, a second man drove up.

“The detectives observed what they believed was Laun accepting delivery of drugs from his connection,’’ police said.

The second man entered the house, exited five minutes later, and drove off. Laun drove off soon afterward, police said.

Police stopped Laun’s car and searched him. They found six bags of cocaine in his pants pocket and a seventh bag in the car, police said....

Officers returned to the Drinkwater Avenue house and searched it, finding another bag of cocaine, Deputy Police Chief Russ Jenkins said....

But the man who allegedly delivered the drugs was not arrested or identified by police. Officers followed his vehicle into Quincy but never stopped him, Jenkins said.

Hmmmmmmmmmmm.

“I can’t say why....’’ Jenkins said....

Why not?  He Jewish or work for the government?
