Spanish Smoke Break

I'm bagging up my Boston Globe's so I hope you will bear with me.

Puff:

"Spain, famed for its smoke-filled bars, corner cafés, and restaurants, set the stage yesterday for a tough new antismoking law that will rid the country of its status as one of Western Europe’s easiest places to light up....

Glad you guys are taking on the real serious problems, cough.

Good thing Europe has a better press than AmeriKa.

"10-year-old mother causes stir in Spain" by Associated Press / November 4, 2010

MADRID — A Romanian Gypsy woman whose 10-year-old daughter just gave birth in Spain said she is delighted and doesn’t understand why the birth has shocked anyone — let alone become an international sensation.

Spanish authorities have released few details about the case to protect the girl’s privacy.

But in comments published yesterday, her mother told reporters that the baby’s father is a 13-year-old boy who is still in Romania and is no longer going out with her daughter....

Wow, an out-of-wedlock pregnancy.

So what drugs and hormones are they putting in your water over there?

The story has gone viral on the Internet and is causing an uproar in Spain....

And here I am giving it another little shove.

But news about the 10-year-old mother barely registered in Romania, where stories buried inside newspapers focused on the controversy the birth had caused among Spaniards.

I know that feeling reading a Boston Globe!

Puff: Pope rips Spanish laws on gays, divorce

No, don't hit that pipe.

Who the hell is he to criticize anyone after presiding over all the preist pooper-pumping?

And I'm (by denomination) Catholic!
