War on Terror Turns Towards Home

And not by withdrawal or cessation of a creeping empire.

It's what the "conspiracy" blogs have been saying since the start:

"US shifts to leaner antiterror strategy" by Kimberly Dozier, Associated Press / June 30, 2011

WASHINGTON — The United States will push ahead with more targeted drone strikes and special operations raids and fewer costly land battles such as those in Iraq and Afghanistan in the continuing war against Al Qaeda, according to a new national counterterrorism strategy unveiled yesterday.

The document is a purposeful departure from the George W. Bush administration’s global war on terror, the worldwide hunt for terrorists that began after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks....

White House counterterrorism chief John Brennan said the reworked doctrine acknowledges the growing threat of terrorism at home....

Brennan told a Washington audience at the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies that more resources would be spent on the fight at home....

Brennan said the strategy relies on “surgical’’ action against specific groups to decapitate their leadership and deny them safe havens and rejects costly wars such as Iraq and Afghanistan that bleed the United States economically and feed Al Qaeda’s narrative that America is out to occupy the Muslim world.

Speaking of surgery:

"Latest threat: surgical bomb implants" July 07, 2011|Associated Press

WASHINGTON - US security officials are warning airlines that terrorists are considering surgically hiding bombs inside humans to evade airport security. And as a result, travelers may find themselves subjected to more scrutiny when flying in the heart of summer vacation season, especially to the United States from abroad.

The outrageous lies to justify tyranny reach such a point that one laughs.

If such a thing does happen I'm sure it will be intelligence-industry driven.

Bombs-in-the body is not a brand new idea, but recent intelligence indicates a fresh interest in using this method, as people-scanning machines in airports aren’t able to detect explosives hidden inside humans.

You SMELL SOMETHING, readers?

Still, there is no current information that points to a specific plot involving surgically implanted explosives, a US security official said, speaking on condition of anonymity to discuss such sensitive matters.

As airport security has increased since the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks, so has the terrorists’ creativity in developing methods to get around it.

That would be the Transportation $ecurity Laboratory.

Aviation continues to be a special target, and evidence from Osama bin Laden’s compound showed that the Al Qaeda leader retained his fascination with attacking airplanes until his death in May.

A LIE REPEATED and REPEATED and REPEATED means NOTHING CAN BE BELIEVED!

Last year, it was reported that British officials uncovered intelligence that Al Qaeda was seeking to surgically implant bombs inside people, a move some believed was prompted by the use of full-body imaging machines at major airports around the world.

“This is something we’ve been concerned about for quite some time,’’ said J. Bennet Waters, a security consultant with the Washington, D.C.-based Chertoff Group and a former Transportation Security Administration official in the Bush administration....

Yeah, I'll bet you have.

"A Brooklyn-born man was convicted yesterday on terror charges for traveling to the Middle East to avenge abuse of Muslims. The trial featured the testimony of a would-be terrorist and childhood friend of the defendant who became a government cooperator....

I'm tired of the frame-ups and set-ups, sorry.

"Study calls Europe’s terrorists mostly local" July 13, 2011|Washington Post

WASHINGTON - Jihadist terrorist activities in Europe, which far outnumber those in the United States, are now mostly run by independent local groups, though the more serious plots appear to have connections to groups in North Africa or the Middle East, according to a new Rand Corp. study.

The study, conducted for the Pentagon, was released last week.

Although Americans generally just think of jihadist terrorists as threatening the United States, Al Qaeda recruitment in Europe, which was never great, has all but vanished.

“Some mosques still play an important role in the radicalization process and in the formation of spontaneous clusters of like-minded individuals. However, most of the activities that normally follow such initial steps no longer take place in mosques but are instead conducted in small private circles outside of the mosques,’’ the study says.

There are cases of radical preachers and those who have fought in various places working to radicalize Europeans, but they are fewer since the police and security-force crackdowns after Sept. 11, 2001....

Until Norway this weekend.

Oh, right, Muslims had nothing to do with that -- just as they had nothing to do with 9/11.
