The Proof is in the Photo

And in the complete paucity of corporate media coverage.

"UNREST ON WALL STREET -- Protesters targeting financial firms marched down Broadway toward Wall Street during a demonstration in New York City's financial district yesterday. Police limited access to parts of Wall Street for a third day after a weekend of protests. At least seven people have been arrested since the demonstrations began (Boston Globe September 20 2011)."

The amazing thing is a guy in the middle of the photo is holding a sign that says "JUST BECAUSE WE CAN'T SEE IT DOESN'T MEAN IT'S NOT HAPPENING."

Well, almost not seen. I get a business brief in the lower corner on a Monday:

"Police again block off Wall Street amid protests" by Bloomberg News / September 19, 2011

NEW YORK - Wall Street was cordoned off a second consecutive day yesterday as organizers of a demonstration targeting financial firms failed to lure the 20,000 protesters they had sought to occupy the area “for a few months.’’

Actually, THEY ARE OCCUPYING and the COPS have started to move in -- at least, that is what Thom Hartmann was reporting on radio this morning.

But that can't be true because the obfuscating AmeriKan media would have reported it. Certainly the Globe would be all over it like Troy Davis, right?

***************************

Police partitioned Wall Street’s pedestrian walkway throughout the weekend, preventing protesters from gaining a toehold there.

The implication being the protesters are invading.

Hey, what would you expect from a corporate new$paper?

Officers stationed at Broadway and Wall Street required workers and residents to show identification to enter the restricted zone....

Meaning the fascist police state serves Wall Street.

Now your paperz, pleeze!

Protests also are planned in Madrid, Milan, London, and Paris, according to a bulletin from the National Cybersecurity and Communications Integration Center obtained by Bloomberg News. The center is part of the Department of Homeland Security.

Oh, the protests are WORLDWIDE -- AND the DHS (sieg heil) is putting out a memo about them.

--more--"

And what I logged on a Saturday and waited to see in my Sunday Globe but never did:

Protesters descend on Wall Street

The protest against American financial systems was partially thwarted by a police shutdown of surrounding streets in New York City.

A planned protest of Wall Street today was partially thwarted by a police shutdown of nearby streets in New York City, according to the New York Times:

For months the protesters had planned to descend on Wall Street on a Saturday and occupy parts of it as an expression of anger over a financial system that they said favors the rich and powerful at the expense of ordinary citizens.

As it turned out, the demonstrators found much of their target off limits on Saturday as the city shut down sections of Wall Street near the New York Stock Exchange and Federal Hall well before their arrival.

Still, about 1,000 protesters were on site at the start of the protest, according to Bloomberg News. The aim of the protest, dubbed #OccupyWallStreet, was to get President Obama to establish a commission to end "the influence money has over our represenatives in Washington," according to the website of Adbusters, a group promoting the event.

“People have a right to protest, and if they want to protest, we’ll be happy to make sure they have locations to do it,” New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg said Sept. 15 at a press conference. “As long as they do it where other people’s rights are respected, this is the place where people can speak their minds, and that’s what makes New York, New York.”

The Next Great Generation blog said the "Occupy Wall Street" protest was "organized online and on Twitter."

The hashtag #takewallstreet was trending on Twitter most of the day."

And nothing since -- even as the occupation continues.
