Silly Zazi Trial

What made me LMAO was the following of him for months and the search at the drug checkpoint before the pathetically set-up patsy was allowed to continue along his way:

"Reputed Al Qaeda operative to represent himself at US trial" Associated Press  February 17, 2015

NEW YORK — The Pakistani defendant’s decision to represent himself will be one twist in a trial certain to have others, including the first use of evidence seized during the Navy SEAL raid in 2011 that left Osama bin Laden dead and testimony from British secret agents who will wear wigs and makeup on the witness stand to conceal their identities. Opening statements are set for Tuesday.

Those are considered credible witnesses?

Nor is this farce of a trial!

Two government witnesses expected to testify against reputed Al Qaeda operative Abid Naseer, Najibullah Zazi and Zarein Ahmedzay, have pleaded guilty in the subway plot.

After their families were threatened.

Prosecutors allege that e-mail account evidence shows all three men were under the direction of the same Al Qaeda handler.

Which US intelligence agency was employing him, FBI?

They also say a document recovered during the bin Laden raid — now declassified — mentions Naseer and refers to the Manchester and New York plots.

PFFFFFT!

Smells like a forgery!

Other witnesses will include MI5 agents who conducted surveillance on Naseer while investigating the Manchester case. At a pretrial hearing, US District Judge Raymond Dearie approved the disguise request after prosecutors told him in court papers that the officers continue to work undercover on sensitive cases and ‘‘disclosure of their identities would pose a significant risk to their safety.’’

Naseer was one of 12 people arrested in Britain in April 2009 on suspicion they were members of an Al Qaeda-backed terror cell.

Arrested on suspicion?

"Al Qaeda wanted recruits to pull off attack like 9/11, prosecutor says" Associated Press  February 18, 2015

NEW YORK — A terror suspect on trial in New York was among several young recruits under orders by Al Qaeda to infiltrate Western society and pull off the biggest operation since the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks, a prosecutor said Tuesday in opening statements.

Assistant US Attorney Celia Cohen told jurors in federal court in Brooklyn that the failed conspiracy in 2009 called for attacks in New York City, England, and Denmark. She said 28-year-old Abid Naseer, who is acting as his own lawyer, headed a cell in Manchester, England, where he attended college as part of his cover and communicated in coded e-mails with his Al Qaeda handler about the cell’s plan to attack a shopping mall.

No kidding?

So WHEN is the FALSE FLAG ATTACK now that the DHS BUDGET is being CUT??

The jury will be the first to see evidence seized during the Navy SEAL raid in 2011 that left Osama bin Laden dead, Cohen said.

PFFFFT!

"Man accused of Al Qaeda plot tells US jury he’s no terrorist" Associated Press  March 03, 2015

NEW YORK — A Pakistani man who is acting as his own attorney at a US terrorism trial told a jury in closing arguments Monday that there is no proof he plotted with Al Qaeda to cause death and destruction at a busy British shopping mall.

‘‘Abid Naseer is innocent,’’ the 28-year-old defendant said, referring to himself in the third person. ‘‘He is not a terrorist. He is not an Al Qaeda operative.’’

At the time of his arrest in 2009, Naseer was ‘‘an innocent man who was just living his life,’’ he added.

The jury is expected to begin deliberations Tuesday.

In her closing argument, Assistant US Attorney Zainab Ahmed told the jurors in federal court in Brooklyn that the arrests of Naseer and other members of a terror cell in Manchester, England, averted mass murder there.

‘‘If the defendant hadn’t been stopped, hundreds of innocent men, women, and children wouldn’t be alive today,’’ Ahmed said.

Naseer, who was extradited to the United States in 2013, took the witness stand to testify last week that e-mails he wrote in 2009 contained innocent banter about women he met online after going to England to take computer science classes.

But Ahmed accused the defendant of trying to mislead the jury, arguing that the evidence showed the names of women were code for bomb ingredients and that he wanted to die a martyr.

‘‘Don’t let any of that blather take away from what’s at stake in this case,’’ she said. ‘‘This man wanted to drive a car bomb into a crowded shopping center and watch people die.’’

Prosecutors have accused Naseer of communicating with an Al Qaeda operative who also was directing another failed plot targeting New York City subways.
