"Woman pleads guilty to killing 73-year-old" by Aneri Pattani Globe Correspondent  March 18, 2015

A woman pleaded guilty Wednesday to charges that she stabbed a 73-year-old man to death in his Roxbury apartment, officials said. Angeliea Brown, 34, of Dorchester, pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter for the August 2013 death of Winston Fields, Suffolk District Attorney Daniel F. Conley said in a statement.

Brown stabbed Fields 10 times at his Washington Street home on Aug. 8, prosecutors said. She had been using drugs with him, and Fields brought her to his apartment that night.

What did he think, he was going to get laid?

Fields was found dead in his home on Aug. 14. By that time, Brown had been arrested on drug charges after setting off an alarm at Madison Park High School and the John D. O’Bryant School of Mathematics & Science in Roxbury. Police found Fields’s blood on items in her purse.

Brown was facing trial on a first-degree murder charge.

Sentencing is scheduled for Tuesday. Suffolk Superior Court Judge Christopher Muse indicated he would adopt prosecutors’ recommendation of a 15- to-18-year state prison sentence, prosecutors said.
