Slow Saturday Special: Grandoit Madame

"A Boston woman was sentenced Thursday in federal court for helping transport women across state lines to engage in prostitution, US Attorney Carmen M. Ortiz said in a statement. Another Boston woman was sentenced in the same crime April 29, the statement said. Vanessa Grandoit, 26, of Roxbury, and Kairis Sanchez, 29, of Dorchester, both pleaded guilty to one count each of transportation to engage in criminal sexual activity. Grandoit was sentenced Thursday to one year and one day in prison and five years of supervised release. Sanchez was sentenced to 18 months in prison and five years of supervised release. According to their indictments, Grandoit and Sanchez were part of a sex-trafficking organization that transported nine females, some minors, across 14 states."
